The Round Robin

It was a usual Wednesday when my friend, Alyssa, invited me for lunch. I told her that I have to go back in UP for a certain time for my afternoon classes. She and Aldrin picked me at Engineering steps and rushed towards UP Teacher's Village. Being undecided where to eat, we just drove along the Maginhawa Street. Wanting to eat somewhere else that none of us been before, we went straight to Sikatuna Village. But because I keep reminding them about the time, we ended up at The Round Robin, which is just few blocks from the arch of Sikatuna Village.

Since we were in a hurry, I wasn't able to take more photos of the place. (Don't worry, we will be back here for sure) Anyhow, here's their humble interior.

PINO

A good friend once invited me for a dinner at Pino because there'll be a Game of Thrones Season-ender viewing party. I agreed to go with her, not because I am a fan of Game of Thrones (well, during that time), but because I am really curious about the great reviews about their food and of course, because it's her treat. :P

I ordered their best-seller, Kare-Kareng Bagnet! Lo and behold, it was the best Kare-Kare and Bagnet I ever had! I may have struggled eating my meal because it dark due to GoT viewing, but I didn't mind because it tastes good! After that night, I told my friend that I would definitely go back to this place and bring more of my/our friends. And that being said, here's one of our visits.

Artsy Cafe

I saw this Brownie Cheesecake from Instagram and since I have been searching for the best cheesecake, I suggested this Artsy Cafe one lunch out with my friends.

We somewhat got lost when we are trying to find this, but my friend who lives along Maginhawa Street later realized that it's the new food place near at his place and after awhile, we finally arrived.

Weekend Weakness.

Chos. I know that I've been eating a lot lately so technically this is not a 'cheat day' kind of weekend. Hehe. Anyhow, here's my food summary last Saturday and Sunday!

Burger King 3-Meat Whopper

Exchanged our movie date to dine at Burger King. It's been awhile since I grabbed food in this fast food chain so I am no longer familiar with their latest menu. But all I know is that their Whopper burgers are the best!

Since the first thing we saw when we entered is the 3-Meat Whopper meal's very appealing photo, instead of sharing different orders, we agreed to get the same meal. And I must say, we both have no regrets.

Ate Fe's Kitchen x The Iscreamist

It's raining cats and dogs when we left the office yesterday (but not as much as today)  but that didn't stop us to push our third time to go on food trip last night!

By the way, I did not post my Chowback Chursday Part 2 yesterday because aside from I didn't have time the whole day, my officemates and I will be going out. Hence, I'll be posting something for today!

Since we are already hungry, well, I am, We started our night at Ate Fe's. I decided to order Sisig and Lechong Kawali for us because that's the food I've been bragging about at this place.

CHOOSEDAY: Big B Burgers vs Snack Shack Burgers

For my first entry for CHOOSEDAY, let me choose Big B Burgers and Snack Shack Burgers. These two are my choices because these two are somewhat the most recent food that I've had that I think have relative characteristics, especially when it comes to cooking their patties. To begin with the comparison, let me give you the similarities that I have observed.

SIMILARITIES
  • They are both exclusive Burger Restaurants
  • Both parties GRILL their patties
  • Because they freshly grill their patties, both food chains ask at least 5-15 minutes (depending on bulk of customers) for a quality patty

CHOOSEDAY!

Ola, Takaw Talkers! Welcome to my newly invented portion here in my blog. I am calling it CHOOSEDAY!*** So what about this cray cray portion about? Every Tuesdays (hopefully I can achieve weekly Tuesdays), I will COMPARE food or restaurants that I think have relatively same taste or type.

To the restaurants that I will feature, walang personalan. I don't work for any company, this is just a personal food blog. I just want to share my opinion to my friends and others. Who knows, baka pareho tayo ng opinyon. I will open the comment box or leave my e-mail on the side for more comments, suggestions, and questions.

At dahil marami akong time ngayon, will post my first CHOOSEDAY today!

en Route!

Good day, Takaw Talkers! My post for today may not focus mainly with food, but since there is still food involved, I will share it anyway. Plus, for party people or for those who just want to chill and just drink beer, this place would be perfect for you.

Last Friday (September 12, 2014), my friends and I decided to go for a Beer Pong night. Since most of us are beginners, we barely know a place to go Upon asking some of our friends, we were torn between Cable Car and en Route. And for some random reasons, we chose en Route.

For starters (which is the only food that we had :P), we had Chili Cheese Fries and Nachos Overload.

Chili Cheese Fries (Php 280.00)

This is the most overloaded fries I have ever seen. At first we thought this is not the one that we ordered, we even thought these are not fries, but yes, these are potatoes! Hahaha!
The potatoes are big-sliced and as you can see from the photo above, it is overloaded with cheese, mayonnaise, chili con carne, and some herbs.

This order is good for 2-3 persons.
This order is totally worth the price! ðŸ‘Œ

Nachos Overload! (Php 280.00)

Just like the Chili Cheese Fries, this Nachos Overload of en Route is also worth the wait and price! It is also good for 2-3 persons and it is overloaded with mayonnaise, olives, and chili con carne!

BEER PONG PART

Each Beer Pong Table cost Php 232.00 inclusive of four San Mig Light Beers. There is no reservation available for the Beer Pong tables but if you really want a private area, the place where we were located may be rented for Php 10, 000. I do not know the further details since we just agreed to allow people who would like to use the beer pong tables to enter the room. Here's the idea of the room that we occupied, this is the side where our tables and things are (photo below) and on the other side of the room are two beer pong tables.

(c)  Ron Pena 2014 FUNKY FRIDAY [09/12/14]

For further drinks, we ordered buckets of San Mig Light and Pale Pilsen (since those were just the available drinks at that night). Each bucket costs Php 290.00, consists of 6 bottles per bucket. They have variety of options for drinks, some labeled hard drinks costs Php 999.00 per bottle and shots are also available.

Location: Tomas Morato corner Scout Degado, Diliman, Quezon City
Landmarks: Red Crab and Zirkoh

In case you have heard of the White Avenue Bar before, that is where en Route is currently located.

Surigao Del Norte Trip

WARNING: All posts under this title are all availed at Surigao Del Norte, so in case you'll crave for the posts below, it's either you'll find another restaurant, cook the said food, or you'll travel to Surigao Del Norte!

Chicken Barbeque

This is the first meal I had when we arrived at the place.
It tastes better with calamansi.
One of the best Chicken Barbeques that I tasted!

at Manjagao Restaurant, Gateway Hotel, Surigao City, Surigao Del Norte

Grilled Tanigue x Grilled Yellow Fin

I must say, this restaurant serves really really good dishes, even with fishes!

Mooon Steak!

I am not really a Steak fan, but this one is for keeps. I would definitely order this again if I get a chance to visit a Mooon Cafe again.

TRIVIA: Mooon Cafe is actually popular Mexican-inspired restaurant in Cebu. According to my auntie, there is no Mooon Cafe yet in the Luzon. So, if ever you would like to visit their branches, you either go to Visayas or Mindanao.

Ola, Patola!

Welcome to my newly made Food Blog!

This is where I will dump all the food that I eat either at home, restaurants, and anywhere.

I will also share food advice, warnings, and recommendations, just because.

I will use either English, Tagalog, or Gay Lingo to express my feelings. But of course, just about the food. ;)

To begin with, here's my version of Man vs. Food in collage. Hahaha! Enjoy!
